Volt CMS Tutorial

Setup

Volt Core Bric

The Volt Core Bric has to be placed inside the global footer area in a bloc at the bottom of the page. It will bring the basic configuration and needed files into the project and after export on your server.

Create a new bloc with padding = none and place it at the lowest point in the document tree inside the global footer area. Add the Volt Core bric inside this new bloc, without any other content inside that bloc. Having other content in that bloc might lead to wrongly generated files.

Authentication Settings

You are able to add up to 5 username / password hash / group membership combinations. Best is not to use a different username than "admin" or "administrator".

  • For the login ID, make sure to use only lowercase ASCII characters like a-z, 0-9, _- (please don't use special characters or blanks in the login ID).
  • For the password hash field, really only use the password hash, which you able to generate here or here. Do not enter the password in clear text into the Volt Core bric, this will not work.
  • For the group membership, enter there as comma separated list group names the user should belong to. Use only lowercase ASCII characters like a-z, 0-9, _-

Editor Group

If you want to restrict the access to the editor tools to users with a special group membership, enter the list of groups (comma separated) allowed to edit the content areas and blogs. If left empty, all logged in users are allowed to use the editor tools.

Redirect to root after login

If enabled, you will be redirected to the domain root instead of remaining on the login page.

Enable Localhost Preview

This setting will allow you to preview already saved content on your server inside Blocs preview. This is good for changing the layout after changes have been done.

In order to make this work, make sure to maintain the project web server address correctly.
